General Information

This section outlines Anime Evolutions policy for prop items brought to the convention by the attendees. This policy cannot be an exhaustive list of all permitted or forbidden items but instead puts forward how prop items will be handed at the convention.

If you are uncertain if your prop item will be not acceptable under the below policies you are encouraged to contact Attendee Services to determine its eligibility.

Peace Bonding

All items must bet peace bonded to be permitted on convention grounds. Items which Attendee Services deems inappropriate will not be peace bonded and must be removed from convention grounds forthwith.

Warnings

Failure to have the item properly peace bonded will result in a warning. Upon the issue of a second warning the item will be seized by Attendee Services for the duration of the Convention.

Major Violations

Willful use of any prop item as a weapon will constitute a major violation at which time the attendee will have their pass revoked and be asked to leave the convention grounds. Details of any incidents will be forwarded to the relevant legal authorities.

  • wood
  • paper / cardboard
  • PVC / plastics
  • high density foam

Forbidden materials / items:

  • metal
  • glass
  • ceramics
  • Yaoi/Yuri paddles

Previous Precedents

Below is a summary of some past decisions regarding the eligibility of prop items. This is not an exhaustive list but summarizes common queries:

  • Yaoi/Yuri paddles are banned
  • Strung bows are not permitted; and any ammo must be untipped
  • Air Soft and Paint Ball guns are not permitted; any other guns must be tipped, blocked, and must not have any ammo
